5/17 Webinar Q&A Follow Up

5/17/23 - A Day in the Life of a Nurse Prescribing on Behalf of a Midlevel or Doctor

Q: What does the pharmacy have to do to participate in the way you referenced in the previous answer about stop date?

A: Most pharmacies participate in fill messages, and all providers will be registered to receive a fill response.

Q: Will refill requests come from our pharmacies into this system?

A: Yes, refill requests from the pharmacy will come into NewCrop. Prescribers are registering in advance to ensure those requests come to the correct software. Keep an eye out for communication on how to enroll in the coming weeks.

Q: Can the nurse send the script to the pharmacy before the prescriber signs?

A: The actions available to the nurse signed into NewCrop depends on their assigned role within EchoVantage. They will either be able to transmit the non-controlled substance Rx on the prescriber's behalf (Nurse prescribing on behalf of Midlevel or Doctor) or they will only be able to queue the Rx for the prescriber to transmit (Staff assisting Prescriber NP, PA, or Doctor). While NewCrop does not have a signature to follow option, the Nurse role is very similar to this. A Nurse can send the prescription, and the pharmacy fills it.
